Welcome! In case you couldn’t guess, I love to travel. I grew up just outside of Portland, Oregon and am so thankful to call the PNW home. Growing up we would camp during the summer, but my family was never overly into outdoor activities. My parents backpack once or twice a summer, but I never grew up around it. As I’ve gotten older my love for the outdoors has grown!
I became a mom in January of 2023 to my son, Cooper. Taking my son on my travels and hiking adventures is extremely important to me. He loves being outdoors and I love being able to provide a place for him to freely explore and learn. I have a degree in Elementary Education but am no longer teaching. I plan to homeschool my children, which will allow us as a family to spend more time in nature.
I could live off of mexican food. Give me a street taco and we will probably be best friends. I am a major foodie, but I also believe in clean eating. I eat organic whole foods at home so I can eat out with a little less guilt. Shopping is also a favorite pastime for me. I have no problem being covered in mud on a trail, but I could also live in sundresses and skirts. Disneyland is one of my favorite places to visit, and my husband and I have gone every year so far. We actually met in Disneyland so it holds a little extra magic for us.
When I was 20 years old I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease, an auto immune disorder. It took 10 years of major health issues, hospital visits and medications to get me into remission. Through that experience of being bed-ridden my love for the outdoors has grown tremendously. I never know when I’ll be bed ridden again so I like to explore the beautiful world as much as I can. And I’ve had to adjust what travel looks like for me. There is always a roll of toilet paper packed in our bags.
I am an avid traveler who plans to visit every National Park someday. I tend to be penny saver, so most of my travels consist of camping, backpacking and road trips, but every so often I like to splurge and take a more relaxing trip. Most of what I share here is going to be about hiking, camping and all things outdoors, but I will be sure to share our other trips too! Through this blog I hope to share travel tips, equipment purchases and some of my favorite places I have been with you. Hopefully you can find what you need to take your own adventure and travel!
Happy Travels,
Elizabeth
